Amazing. Finally an English Translation...my broken "French" (if you can call it that...) was only taking me so far...

Artful Dodger.
So, Randi and I took in the last day of the Utah Arts Festival, yesterday--I was stoked to see all of the local artists and local talent. I always have so much respect for people in a creative outlet. As a bonus, it was a beautiful day. Hello, sunburn. :)
I was most excited to see Cat Palmer's finished work. (I had been invited to participate in her Salt Flats shoot, a month ago.) Interestingly, as we entered the festival, a couple stopped me. They had just purchased a piece of Cat's work, with me hanging out, "front and center". Kinda neat, although as a creep factor, I might be watching them eat in their dining room. haha.
Outta body experience, right here: (The last available piece...)

Eye Candy.
It's been uncharacteristically cold, rainy and all around "icky". But, today, the sun is FINALLY out and I'm taking full advantage of it. I broke out the bike for an early morning jaunt and finished up with coffee on my deck. I wish I could live all of my days, just like this. However, I feel compelled to do something productive...even on a day like this.
I FINALLY got the first sample pieces of my "hopefully" eclectic clothing stuffs. I'm stoked if I can bring it to fruition. I'm almost petrified to wear the sample pieces. Hopefully ya'll will like them as much as I do.
There will be pictures coming of the sample dresses, as well. I'm thinking this stuff is gonna require it's own blog, at some point. Maybe I should get on that. haha.
(I did "get on that"... www.monloulouclothing.blogspot.com)
**Psst, the shirt would retail for roughly around 25 bucks. Yep.

Developing.
Remember the thrill of polaroid cameras? While chilling with your friends, you could pull out the Polaroid camera, snap away, and watch as the image slowly appeared in full vivid color. Who could forget how Outkast’s big hit “Hey Ya!” reminded everyone of the virtues of Polaroid shakin?
Well now, there’s "Poladroid" – an online program available for Windows and Mac users that converts your digital shots into Polaroid look-alikes. What’s rad about Poladroid? You drag and drop your digital pics on top of the camera. From the camera, out shoots a blank photo that slowly “develops” on your computer desktop. I've found it slightly addictive and it's made me a bit nostalgic. Better yet, the cost is free- though "Poladroid" is taking donations.
Also, being an iPhone owner, I found Shakeit. This is a new iPhone App that uses the same tinted colors, staggered developing process and entertaining “shake” technique. Basically, you take a picture with your iPhone and the polaroids actually develop quicker if you shake it.
Pretty sweet, if you ask me.

So that gets that admission out of the way...

Salty Dawgz.
So, yesterday was the closest thing to a vacation, as I've had in a while. I've never been to the Salt Flats. Ever. When photographer Cat Palmer asked me to be a part of her shoot, I was extremely excited. I have admired her work for long time and especially loved her photos on the Salt Flats, two years ago. All of my excitement was well rewarded. (Plus, my bare feet got quite the "salt exfoliate"....haha.) Except for the slight glitch of having another photographer start taking frames of our shoot...it was a blast. I had such an amazing time and met so many awesome people! We should see the proofs from the shots in 2-3 weeks and they will also be on display at the Utah Arts Festival! MMmmhmmm!
As Tyra would say..."FIERCE". ;) hahahaha.

Kooky? Ghyeah.
Well...in the effort of "good style"....
This should make it all better.
Check out The Kooks. I've had my iPod on their album "Konk", for the past week. I'm still not sick of it.

Closet Case.
So, I cleaned my closet out today. Okay, okay...I say that like I'm finished, which I'm not. I still have a couple monsterous piles, strewn all around my room. This is what I do. I love clothes, end of story.
I guess I have always liked my little dose of "retail therapy". Give me a rough day at work and I'll be more than happy to find a darling new shirt to add to my collection. Give me a rough day with a boy and...well, that's "going for broke". haha. As I slowly gutted my closet, I found some of the remnants, fairly interesting. I found things that I apparently bought, only because someone labeled them "ugly", a dress that I only bought because the boy I liked, told me that he loved it... mixed in with items that will stay in my closet, just due to the price tag. The best surprise was finding my dad's cowboy boots. I thought I had lost them in my move and they are irreplaceable.
So, cheers to spring cleaning and breaking out summer dresses. :)
(*bonus: I found my "Gold teef, fer errrbody" t-shirt!)

Club rat, club rat.
So, I saw Treasure Fingers, last night. (For anyone wondering, he was amazzazing...) Plus, as a bonus, I got a beer spilled all over me. Yay! (Double "yay", if you will...) I think it may have successfully ruined my SILK dress. Which got me thinking...how annoying "club rat" or "I live for the weekend, when it's only Monday" girls are. (For anyone not getting my analogies, DRUNK GIRLS). Maybe that's why I hate going out? Maybe.
All things aside, it was a good time. I've really enjoyed the new people I've met in the last little while. :) I'm toying with the idea of going to see "Designer Drugs" tonight. The jury's still out. Although, this time I will make sure I avoid the blonde chick that apparently thought I was "salting up her game"; which in turn resulted in 'le beer all over my dress, followed by an "oops". That and I'll wear a burlap sack.
Syyyke.

Back in Black.
I remember last year, when my friend Andrea and I attended "Raw Couture", SLCC's annual fashion show for their Fashion Design Department. We quietly picked apart each and every collection, featured by their senior students. Well, this year, Andrea was able to have her designs featured in "Raw Couture". She took an imaginative take on WWII uniforms and was a crowd favorite. She envisioned patriotic colors and strong masculine lines with a feminine feel. Her inventive military jackets, skirts and dresses did not disappoint, and earned her the "Creativity in Design" award. Her models definitely looked stylish, not "fatigued". :)

Oh boy, Oh boy.
Ch-Che-Check it.
I'm loving his sneaks. A bit of the flannel, too.
Boys with style are big in my book - a little character like a neck scarf, hat or a sharp looking jacket can make all the difference. Just enough though. Too much and you're making me work too hard. ;) Glasses are attractive, unless they're followed with a super ostentatious attitude. haha. I've realized that just a bit of "rough around the edges" scruff, balanced out by the perfect amount of tidiness is golden. Just a few things that make me sigh.
Oooh and will someone please tell me why I'm so taken by Ed Westwick. Yeah, please explain...cause I can't.

Born.
My name is Harmony and I’ve been painfully hip, for as long as I can recall. I like to keep my fashion vices fed and I am obsessed with the finding of ridiculous deals and spurges on said "hipness".
Here's what you should be wearing. Plus, other general nonsense.
You’re welcome.
:)
(Disclaimer: I hope you all can smell the sarcasm...kinda)
